So often we fail to take opportunities that come our way. Perhaps that has been the case for you, as it has for me. Yet, it is never too late. You are not too old, too young, or too incapable to reach out and catch hold of a dream. The trick is to keep holding on, following through so that you can finally realize the joy of accomplishing. Perfection is not the goal here. The joy is in the attempt.
Do you love the outdoors? Yet, do you find yourself caught up in life's busyness to the point that you never quite get the time to see nature's daily display of wonders?
If that sounds like you, I invite you to come with me on my journey. My hope is that I can impart to you that there is a way for you to explore, learn and enjoy the outside world around you, and that's it's worth the time it takes to do it.
On July 7, 2008, I will begin the journey to Master Naturalist. Taught by the exceptional Dr. Mark LaSalle, who created the program for Mississippi State's Extension Service, I will, along with a group of other explorers, learn about the ecosystem of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, the Pascagoula River Basin and all that lives within it.
Daily I'll share what I have learned so that if you have an interest in becoming a Master Naturalist (many states have programs), you can get a feel of what it's all about.
I will also post links to various courses available online to you so that you can study, at your own pace, about ecosystems, biology and the like. Though I'll link to some that are pay-for courses, many will be free.
While my learning is important to me, it is nearly equally important to me that I share these wonders so that you might learn about them as well.
